NPC 2017 Northeast Summer Classic Bodybuilding, Physique and Bikini Competition
MetroSports Magazine prides itself on providing readers and athletes with exposure to a variety of Metro N.Y. region sports that aren’t typically covered in traditional media outlets. Our coverage has included such wide-ranging sports as professional bull riding, boxing, mixed martial arts, auto racing, go-cart racing, BMX bicycle racing, sled hockey, women’s professional football, table tennis, gymnastics, weight lifting and body building. In the past three years we’ve never missed an opportunity to cover the nation’s premiere body building circuit, the National Physique Committee (NPC) when they come to town.
On Saturday, July 8th, the NPC made its annual appearance at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, N.Y., for the Northeast Summer Classic, a national qualifier event for the annual NPC National Bodybuilding Championships to be held in Miami, FL, on November 17-18, 2017. As we have done in the past, we’ll provide full coverage of the Northeast Summer Classic with in-depth profiles of selected competitors in September issue’s summer wrap-up.
For now, we present a brief on the major overall category winners.
In the Men’s Bodybuilding Novice category, encompassing the lightweight and heavyweight bodybuilding novice divisions, the overall Northeast Summer Classic Champion is Steven Mitropoulos. Other bodybuilding divisions that will be summarized in our September issue included the Teen, Junior, 35+, 40+ and 50+ age divisions.
