New York Strong-est Man and Woman 10
Warren Rosenberg - MetroSports Magazine July 23, 2022
They came out and competed on a blistering 95 degree July day in Harrison, NY. Over 70 athletes ranging in age from five to 55, both men and women, pitted their muscular strength, physical endurance, and mental resolve against loaded sandbags and kegs, tires and steel plates, an axle, a car, and a truck.
The U.S. Strongman sanctioned event, the New York Strong-est Man and Woman 10, celebrated hard training, athleticism, mind over matter, friendship and camaraderie in front of an eager crowd of supporters and sponsors. The event opened with a patriotic salute to America and those who fight to protect it, provided the crowd with food, ice cream, entertainment, all under the protective watch of the Town of Harrison police department.
Organized and promoted by the NY Strong Gym in nearby Mamaroneck, in partnership with the Harrison Recreation Department, and supported by several sponsors including Fem and Fierce, Westchester Crankshaft, Vincent Service, Inc., and Mad Dog Service, the event, now in its 10th year, has become a regional staple and something that we at MetroSports Magazine look forward to.
Given the social consciousness of the promoters, Todd and Anna Giorgi of NY Strong Gym and the Fem and Fierce 501.c.3 organization, respectively, a substantial part of the proceeds from the event were donated to the Special Needs Senior Dog Sanctuary (@SpecialNeedsSeniorDogSanctuary).
Congratulations to the winners and to all competitors. For a full listing of the event results, please visit the Iron Podium site at:
